Souls Unfractured is one of those books that come along and I have to push myself to read it because I know it's going to stretch some of my limits. It's going to make me cringe, make me question the sanity of the human population, and it's going to stay with me well past the end...
I'll be 100% open and say I didn't think I could finish this book. Why? For the same reason I couldn't finish book two...the sheer rawness of the story felt like my chest was being cracked open and I felt utterly fileted (pun NOT intended). I've came to the conclusion that the blame isn't all in the subject matter of these books, it's in the ability of Ms Tillie Cole to create a scene so visually clear, you as the reader feel as though you have a front row center seat- a front row visual to things I really didn't fathom being able to watch. Something about these religious cults really really disturb me, coupled with what they do to children? It's honestly too much for me at times. And I cannot fathom that this is going on in our world today.
But I KNEW I had to read this book. I had to find answers to why Flame was the sick, twisted killer that he was in books 1 & 2. The killer that stands guard day and night below Maddie's window protecting her. The killer that can't be touched, not physically. But Maddie sure touched him...
No one would ever hurt her again. If they did, they would die. Die under my motherfucking blades… Because she was mine. The little black-haired bitch called Maddie was mine.
Such a Casanova, huh? Gah, I loved him. But, rest assured, Flame is bar-none THE most tortured hero I've ever experienced. My heart bled for that man. Yes, he's so so mentally scarred and borderline demonic in his rage at times, but, Lord did I want to hug all the pain away from that
"I know I'm different. I know I don't see the world like everyone else does. But I want to see your world, Maddie. Even if it's the only one I'll understand."
I'm not going into a great deal on the plot line here. Anyone who has read this series will be promised a continued dose of Hades Hangmen brother loyalty, cameos from past MCs such and Skye/Mae and Ky/Lilah. We get grit and we get the ugliness that is the Christian cult the girls came from. What we get tenfold is an overwhelming sense of angst for both MCs. A connection that has defied their awful circumstances. Nobody understands it but them...they are each other's Saviors.
I'm so glad I pushed through the ugly that is depicted so clearly in this book. Without seeing that dark, I don't think I could quite grasp the light that shines within these two when they combine their strengths to fight each other's demons. I commend Tillie Cole for taking this seasoned dark reader and pushing my limits to the breaking point, yet, springing me back to such a perfect love story in the end. Two very very imperfect people so perfect for each other.
Looking forward to more within the Hades Hangmen Series. It appears at this time, 7 books are scheduled to be written. I'd love to see Viking and AK each get a book after finding out the great guys they truly are in this book. Friends that no matter how flawed you are, see you for the person you truly are, including your flaws and love you all the same! Off to finish Ky and Lilah's book now that I've donned my big-girl panties!

Tillie Cole is a Northern girl through and through. She
originates from a place called Teesside on that little but awesomely sunny
(okay I exaggerate) Isle called Great Britain. She was brought up surrounded by
her English rose mother — a farmer’s daughter, her crazy Scottish father, a savagely
sarcastic sister and a multitude of rescue animals and horses.
