Holden Scott is the prince of professional football. At least he was before he lost it all . . . or more to the point, before he threw it all away. Now he's out of a job, out of the public's good graces, and perhaps just a little out of his mind. So when a friend offers up his remote lodge in the wilds of Colorado, giving Holden some time away to get his life back on track, he can hardly say no. The last thing he expects is to see a beautiful girl in the woods—one wearing a white, lace dress who appears in the moonlight, and leaves no footprints behind. Is she a dream? A ghost? A product of his muddled imagination? Or something entirely different?

Midnight Lily is the haunting love story of two lost souls reaching for each other in the dark. A tale of healing, acceptance, and the worlds we create to protect our own hearts. It is a story of being lost, of being found, and of being in the place between.

THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY VIRGO. Non-Paranormal, New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.

One word for this book...MINDF@CK!! My brain hurts.

Okay, that being said...

I'll be 100% straightforward, my review will be simple and vague. Take one piece of advice, if the blurb interests you or if you're simply a fan of all things Mia Sheridan, have faith and jump in blind. One teeny tiny spoiler will ruin the ride for this beautiful love story. I'm dreading to see all the "recap the entire story" reviews to come because right now this story is the best kept secret.

In a nutshell, Midnight Lily is about two very imperfect people that find themselves perfect for each other. It's a very unconventional love story and I found myself gripping my kindle as tight as could be, feverishly turning the pages to see where the story was taking me. It wasn't a sleepy, relaxing "beachy" read, but more so a gripping, all-consuming, yet trickle-fed love story. It has an almost dreamlike effect on the reader and I often wondered if everything was truly as it seemed.

Midnight Lily has almost eerie yet beautiful undertones; sadness coupled with grief; profound love and a deep-seated understanding of each other's unique needs. It was seriously all-consuming and like nothing I've read before- and nothing like Mia Sheridan's typical tropes. She ventured outside her tug-at-the-heartstrings contemporary romance plots and took this to an entirely higher level.

I finished the book a few hours ago and find myself rethinking it all...trying to piece together everything within my scrambled mind. But in the end, the biggest twist of all pulls everything together.

So if you're in the mood for a book that'll challenge your psyche, melt your heart, grip you from page one to the final words, Mia Sheridan delivers in spades with Midnight Lily.
