One story. Two couples.

I proposed on our first date.
She laughed and told me I was insane. Less than a day later, she said yes.
It was a whirlwind, but we were happy…
Until we got greedy and wanted a family.

It was a life I couldn’t give her, not for lack of trying. Fertility just wasn’t on our side. We sought out doctors and treatments. Spent money we didn’t have. Lied to our families. Smiled for our friends.
Put on a brave face for a world that didn’t understand.
Finally, we were successful…
Until we were forced to bury our son.

We were left broken, battered, and destroyed.
They say love is in the details, but it was the details that ruined us.

This is the story of how I took back what had always been mine.
The retrieval of my wife and our family.

I knew absolutely nothing about that man. But I knew he was mine. And I was meant to be his.

Retrieval is a story of two families. Two couples who've dealt with the stress of infertility treatments. One succeeding. One failing after the loss of their son minutes following his birth. Everyone deals with grief differently. Elisabeth needed Roman but Roman buried himself the only way he could- in work-so they could try again for that happy family only money and science can provide.

Then Elisabeth walked away. And two years later, he plans to get his chance of a familial happily-ever-after back.

Retrieval sucked me in from the very start. Gripping the heartstrings from the very first chapter, we enter into this couple's journey following the loss of their baby. It's a true tragedy what happens to Elisabeth and Roman yet Aly Martinez builds their love story back up from a virtual ground zero and I couldn't put this book down until they found their happiness again. But is it in the cards after all they've been through?

Let me say this- Aly Martinez can write a sexy, suspenseful story! A refreshing different plot, this book has it all! I was emotionally invested from the beginning with their tragic loss and then the plot thickens... In Retrieval we get a fair degree of suspense and a hero that will stop at NOTHING for his ex-wife and future family. Roman Leblanc was perfection and the chemistry between he and his Lissy was perfectly portrayed. She doesn't stand a chance with his sexy dominance. She thinks she can withstand him but her body, her heart, betrays her.

Retrieval ends in a definite cliffhanger and I cannot wait to dive into the last installment, Transfer.
